No. If Michigan had won the game, I think they become the top ranked team and play in the BCS championship game against another BCS conference team such as the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Pac 10 or SEC champion or Notre Dame. In this case it would probably be Arkansas, Florida or USC. I am not a fan of rematches in D1A college football. You get one shot... You win, you move on, you lose, you go home.

As good as Michigan is, I don't think that teams should get a shot at the national title if they can't win their own conference.
I had no rooting interest in this game, I'm against rematches in general for National Championship games... the game these two teams played last Saturday WAS for the National Championship... and Ohio State won. Yeah, it was on their home field, but so what? All Michigan has to do next year is go undefeated and beat Ohio State at home, and then THEY'LL have the advantage. Besides, Michigan might have gotten blown out had they not been inspired by Bo Schembechler's speech and sudden passing (back in the 70s, I did like Michigan better, because I liked Bo better than Woody Hayes).
But Michigan had their shot, and they lost.
Why did either team even TRY to win last Saturday if the game meant nothing (which is exactly what it would mean if the two teams get a rematch)?
It's not fair to Ohio State to say "OK, you just beat Michigan, now beat 'em again to show you're the best".... They already proved it.
Besides, just because Ohio State had home field, doesn't mean Michigan shouldn't have beaten them... after all, Texas beat USC in January's ROSE BOWL to win the National Championship...

I think if Ohio State had lost, Michigan wouldn't be hollering for a rematch.
Even if the site is neutral, being the NC is in Glendale, it's still going to be a heavy crowd of OSU fans since they have a head start on tickets.
Peronsally, either way, whomever won...there should not be a rematch. I said this before the game and I am saying it after.

If neither Florida or USC wins out, I think there should be a re-match. As an OSU alumnus I'd either feel more strongly about it or, more likely, I'd be too despondent to care. But I do think they look like the two best teams in the country. Still, if Florida or USC wins out, they deserve a shot. I just don't want to see Notre Dame vault ahead of Michigan--Michigan absolutely humiliated them. If the Irish beats USC and Florida loses a game, I think a rematch would be in order. Otherwise, wait till next year.

No and I'm a Michigan fan. It's ridiculous that a rematch would even be considered. We play Ohio State either on Columbus turf (which, by the way, needs to be replaced) or Big House turf... we'll see them again this time next year for the GREATEST rivalry in college football!!!

I am in favor of the rematch (neutral ground would be alot different then at Ohio State).
But if it had been at Michigan, and Michigan had won by just a few points, I would have definitely been in favor of a rematch also.

Who says the majority is anti-rematch?
If Michigan had won, I would want a re-match just as I do now.
This year the Big Ten has the top two teams in the country.

Michigan will definitely be in the rose bowl after the victory, not in the NC though. Maybe Kansas Oregon, I don't think LSU can make it through without another loss. Kansas stuns Oklahoma and then gets destroyed by Oregon in the NC. Michigan 34 tosu 0 again.....

I think Edward K. has the right answer. Whether they should, would, or could............ USC will get the bid if they win out if not Florida will get bid if they win out. Then there will be Michigan. Go Seminoles! Go Irish! but most importantly GO BLUE!

no. you get one shot at the champ, especially if it's your last game. your next game shouldn't be against the same team for the National Championship.
