All the work that has been done since Einstein in Cosmology is mind-blowing. How can anyone conceptualize the vast amounts of space and time and make sense out of it? I know that many cosmologists, themselves have reacted viscerally to new discoveries and have the same difficulty I have. But what keeps them on track? Is it the mathematical formulas that they develop that can keep them grounded? Or are they stumbling blindly through their work? I find cosmology and quantum physics fascinating, but I often get lost because their ideas and theories are so unfamiliar. What do you think?

My husband and I are trying to have our first baby. I just had my period a little over a week ago. We have been having sex religiously since. The past 2 days I have not felt like "myself". I've been neasus, and very hungry at the same time. I don't want to jump the gun and assume I am pregnant. My question is, do I really have to wait until my next period to find out? Or is it possible you could get pregnant right after your last period?

Ok, im from the UK and fly to the US occasionally. They do the thing with your finger prints and take your photo when I enter. Now when I'm leaving the US I see them kiosk's at Chicago O'Hare airport and think "If I don't do this they might not let me back in the county". My question is, do i have to "check out" and if its voluntary then can it still affect re-entry?

My boyfriend sells for an advertisement company. Everything that he sells is a great deal. EX: 4 car washes at a local carwash they do inside, outsite, detailing, under the car, tires, rims, air freshener, and will wash again for free on the day of your choice if it rains within 48 hours of wash. Only for $26.00 total, no catch.
He seems to be having trouble selling, what is he leaving out?

I used quadratic formula to solve.
find the x-intercepts: y=x^2-4x+4
At the end it works out to be 4+0=4/2=2
And then plus or negitve so 4-0=4/2=2
Answer x=2,x=2

Seriously! One would think that such laws violate the separation of church and state that's established in the Constitution, but I once heard about a Supreme Court ruling that stated that blue laws weren't unconstitutional. What's up with that?

My boyfriend and I have been together nearly six months and he says "I love you" about every five to ten minutes or so... Every time we exchange words, make eye contact, pass each other in the hall... whatever. He calls me from work every day... sometimes three times a day... is pretty needy as far as attention goes, and explains to me in detail every thing he does during the day.

I know he loves me... he is always thinking about me, asking me if I need anything... but I feel like he's too attentive. I feel like he's chasing away every silent moment we could enjoy together, and the words "I love you" are becoming just noise. I don't even say it back half of the time because It's just wierd to say it over and over and over again in a matter of minutes.

I don't mean to be ungrateful because he is a good guy and I do love him... I just want more out of or communication than saying I love you back and forth.

Am I being too critical? I don't even know what to say to him about it.

I mentor a younger teen boy. I usually see him oonce a week and we do a variety of activities. His mom and him recently decided to go out of town (it wasn't a needed trip) this weekend on a night that I was going to take him to a hockey game. He and his Mom knew about this weeks in advance and I had bought the tickets (I'm now out $50) and didn't get much of an apology from his mother. "Jonny" my mentee was suppossed to call me on Sunday, but never did (his mom made excuses for him). I feel pretty "dissed" by them right now expecially since I've been with them for 1 1/2 years. I'm thinkinig of waiting to see how long it will take them to call me after this weekend. I feel that they should take some initiative and call me about our next visit. My question is should I wait for them to call or should I make contact with them first? I just feel that the "ball" is in their court.

I have never been out with any of my boyfriends for a month before he is my first! He doesn't think that it is important. So what should I do that let's him know that I'm happy with him and I care without going over board?

I realize that you sweat more when you run with sweats on, but does losing water weight affect your weight gain/loss in the long run? I was under the impression that ultimately, your weight pattern is determined by net calorie intake vs. expenditure, and losing calories is basically determined by weight vs. distance (when running). So, theoretically, wearing more clothes, other than adding a fraction to your weight, shouldn't affect your weight loss (in the long run). Again, I realize you will lose more water weight, which will make you lose more weight in the short run, but for someone trying to lose weight as a lifestyle change, is it smart to run with sweats on? Additionally, if you theoretically can run further without sweats, since you won't dehydrate as easily, then is it actually BETTER to run without sweats?
