Seriously! One would think that such laws violate the separation of church and state that's established in the Constitution, but I once heard about a Supreme Court ruling that stated that blue laws weren't unconstitutional. What's up with that?

Well, I don't drink at all so it doesn't matter to me, but yes I it is ridiculous. I think it's even more ridiculous that in South Carolina you can't buy ANYTHING other than the basic needs such as batteries, food, and diapers before 1:00 on Sunday. But you can buy as much booze as you want 24/7 around the clock.

I couldn't believe it when I went to Super Walmart one Sunday morning to buy a pair of work gloves, some gatoraide and safety goggles to do work in my yard. I went to the Check out, the girl says oh you can't buy the gloves the goggles before 1 o'clock. I asked her why Walmart was even open for business if they couldn't sell anything before then. She said well, they can still sell Beer, wine, and food.
How's that for hypocrisy?

The ID thing is there to protect you because the law thinks that you are too young to be able to restrain yourself and not drink too much. Perhaps the age limit should be raised to stop some adults overdoing it too! Some points to note when you've had a few drinks. Your brain tells you: You are invincible. You are not. You can fly. You can't. You are all right to drive. You are not.

Everyone in my church drinks, so I fail to see the church-state connection on this one.

I do agree that alcohol sales on Sunday should be everywhere the people vote to have them. Some counties in certain states are completely dry 24/7/365 because the majority of voters want it that way. I have to drive 40 minutes on Sunday if I want to buy some beer. I just make sure I have it Saturday so I don't have to.

There is also a seperation of state, city, and federal laws.

If the peeps of a community don't like a local law, they can demand it's repeal.

It's none of the people's business in Texas what the peeps of Utah consider law, unless it contradicts the Constitution.

Pile on this law: In Michigan, you can't buy alcohol on Christmas!

It is obviously a Christian specific law for the day of Christian worship, and it is equally obvious that the ACLU is not supporting our right to be free of such government interference.

Why is the ACLU busy helping pedophiles and helping prevent the free exercise of religion, yet they fail to stop this obvious intrusion by the Christians into our drinking. It's just disgusting.

It does suck but I dont think it is unconstitutional. People have the right to sell things on whatever days they want. What if it was just tuesdays that they didnt sell it, would that be unconstitutional?

In Pennsylvania you can't buy alcohol anywhere but liquor stores, no beer in Walmart or gas stations or anything. And, no, bars aren't opened on Sunday.

Okay, I know and understand "what" you're saying here. But If I'm
not mistaken, it all has to do with respect and God. You know, people usually go to church on Sundays, so that's the day they picked "not" to drink? I don't drink, so I don't really have to think about it or allow it to bug me either way.
