My boyfriend sells for an advertisement company. Everything that he sells is a great deal. EX: 4 car washes at a local carwash they do inside, outsite, detailing, under the car, tires, rims, air freshener, and will wash again for free on the day of your choice if it rains within 48 hours of wash. Only for $26.00 total, no catch.
He seems to be having trouble selling, what is he leaving out?

Hey there... I used to do similar sale sfor an advertising company a couple years ago.. I was actually very sucessful at it as well..
We probably worked for the same major compnay... Ask your boyfriend if the parent company is DS Max.... The advertising company is under a different name, but DS Max provides the coupon books, or advertising packages if you will to the direct marketing companies... Let me guess, your boyfriend builds a team under him, once he gets enough people he can open his own office???
I would have stayed in the business, but being i live in Chicago, it gets TOO COLD IN WINTER!!
You being in Cali, i can see it workign out just fine...
Anyways, to answer your question...
My main selling point was always the face that they are getting their mney back immediately..
If the packet costs $26, the first thing he has to say is that the customer IMMEDIATELY recoupes that cose with "x, y, and z"
Whether it is free 2 free car washes, etc.
One accoutnt i always enjoyed working on is pizza companies..
For instance, Pizza Hut would have a $20 card advertising packet.. But, immediately you get 3 free pizzas, whcih at say $10 per pizza, you immediately make your money back and then some... Then the extra's, buy one get one free, half off, etc. is just icing on the cake....
The main thing is also the intro to the pitch...
I would always say "im here from ___ doing a some advertising to gain a little more foot traffic for ____.. I would then immediately say, ____ wants to gain some more business from this area so bad that they are offering a HUGE DEAL OF SAVINGS to entice you to coming to the store not only once, but on a regular basis... This is why we are offering ........ etc.
Make the pitch seem like it is a to good to be true offer, and they are only doing it to gain more loyal customers from around the area...
Make sure he says things like we have tried sneding stuff in the mail, but we feel the best way to gain business is word of mouth and to speak to the customers directly...
What i also always did was say im wioth whatever company we are advertising for.. Even though technically you are working with a 3rd party advertiser, they dont need to know that unless they ask.. In fact i sold more packets to people that had no idea i wanst from the actual company then one's that did...
If they ask, you simply save it by saying yeah, ____ hired us to go around the surrounding neighberhoods offering huge discounts to generate more business for them..
The customer needs to feel like we are basically giving this stuff away to get you to come in...
Also, another HUGE roll, any your boyfriend should know this term.. Rehash... Or basically sellin gmore then one packe tat a house.. I always, especially this time of year push for the "gifts" for family...
At every door simply ask, is ther anyone else you know that could benefit from this offer? Tel them christmas gifts, b-day, etc.
I had a couple families that bought over 5 at a time...
I have a lot more good info to give you as well.. Ive been in sales fo rquite some time..
Im available to IM.. open_to_See is my screen name..
I checked out your website too, pretty cool.. Id liek to check out your myspace too uif its okay... Just shoot me an email or IM me and id be hapy to answer anything else you need...
hope this helps...

I was about to say looking at your picture you wouldn't have any problem selling "anything." But maybe you can join him in his business. He wait in the car while you knock on the door and sell.

People just don't like to buy things from the sales people who come to the door unless they are your neighbors, girl scouts or boy scouts. Also, it does sound and make you wonder what it is that they don't know about. Start from the people he knows.
