To the Corinthians St. Paul wrote:
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15.22
The Pauline doctrine of Original Sin is, however, contradicted by other passages from the Bible. In Deuteronomy, for example, which is one of the five books of Torah, Moses says:
The father s shall not be put to death for the children, nor shall the children be put to death for the fathers; every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
Deuteronomy 24.16
Contrary to the teachings of the Church, which goes under his name, that all children are born in sin, Jesus Christ confirms their innocence in the following passage from the Gospel according to Matthew:
Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18.3
