I have a 3.8yr old son. He is developmentaly delyed by 1yr. He has inadeqate speech. He can not hold the pencil. He can not draw circle. He was born prematurely at the age of 33weeks. Instead of keeping him in nursery the pediatri gave him to the relative for feeding. My wife was serious and was in ICU as her BP shoot up at the time of extubation. I was busy there. My son was given milk with spoon by my relative. . On 3rd day at about 3 pm I found that he became apoenic and I took him to the nursery. I don't know whether pediatri started glucose or not because when I reached in nursery at 10.30 pm I found he was again apnoeic and one senior pediatri was adjusting the drip rate. He told me that my son had an episode of hypoglycemia. And he was checked only once. After the drip he did not have any more apnoea.This doc was not in favour of I/V fluid. I was all that helplessly as I didn't have time. And I was also a pediatrician in same deptt ! Now what should I do for my guilt feeling

My little man...9yrs old has this really bad habit of touching him self. I have seen men that fix it alot but @ 9 there is not alot to fix. I have ask the Dr about this and had him even go in to make sure there was not something going on...There was nothing. So is there a way or words I can say to him to get him to stop? He is a very big ball player and after every single pitch he moves himself or what ever it is you guys do. Sorry a silly question but I really think its a issue and people are looking at him. Some parents I know say hey Mom I think JJ needs to go to the bathroom...Grrrr Help!!

When people say that parents can't or shouldn't homeschool because they're not certified teachers, what is it specifically that they think teachers do to that uncertified people can't? Or what is it that they think teachers learn during certification that makes them able to teach?

My memories of junior high and high school were mainly of teachers saying things that were already in our textbooks. My memories of elementary were of working from workbooks or textbooks, things just about any parent can help their child with, and spending time reading, writing book reports and writing creative stories.

My teacher training and my time teaching were focused on teaching a group of children. We learned that we needed to figure out ways to keep all the children engaged, how to implement classroom discipline... As someone who has taught a class full of kids, who has tutored individual people and is now homeschooling, I can say from experience that they are very different situations.

Once again done by a bunch of a sorry team playing nobodys...but we looked pretty losing didn't we? Come all of you "Hip-Hop" playing ball players....tell my that my all Foreign team would never win an NBA Championship.....the "key" word here is "TEAM"....step up to the table and tell me that Greece was just lucky!!!....in the meantime step on to the court while we knock your soxs off!!!....an American all the way but just disgusted with the state of "Hip-Hop" in basketball......look good losing rather then look bad winning!!!

I'll start...I was registering my 4 year old son for school. He was walking along the colorful tile on the floor, one circle after another. I figured he was distracted enough so i began to fill out the paper work. Well, guess what? The tiles on the floor led right up to this big red button on the wall....the fire alarm. So, naturally, my son pushed the button and screamed with joy when it made a tremendous sound. Yes, the fire department came and I apologized a million times to the principal and staff....
