I'm not surprised either, MJ. We have the best talent in the world, but 12 'one man teams' on our roster. Other countries play as a team, while Team USA players are worried about personal stats instead of Wins. Plus, as you stated, we're the best, and every team wants to beat the best. For Team USA, the Greece game was just another day in the gym. For Greece, it was game 7 of the finals...

Some information.
Greece has won 2 times the Europe championship and is nearly always in the final four of Europe's championship.(and Greece actually came in Japan as the Europe champion( it won the 2005 Europe championship)
And this is the fourth time that Greece played in the world final four.
Is it a possibility that US underestimate a powerful team?

Best league in the world? Well maybe because it has forgein talent in it. I don't think we underestimate the opponents it just that we typically do NOT play defense. To often we play playground ball. You see it all the time. The best? Not any more and have not been for quite awhile. Intersting that almost NONE of the games have been shown in the US. I wonder if the league had some say so in it? You can say what you want but the proof is there. We're 3rd at best in the world.

No surprise! Indianapolis 2002, Athens 2004... why is it a surprise? You were winning everybody by a large difference, but Argentina, Spain and Greece were doing the same! The dominance of USA in international basketball is definily OVER and it's going to get worst!

Shocking!!! What the hell is going on?!
Team USA (star-studded NBA players) lost to Greece?!
I expected that they can do it all the way to the championship but what the hell happend? Another bronze medal?! This one is a total disaster! They have LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and the 2006 NBA Finals MVP Dwayne Wade.. They lost against the Greece!
If Kobe Bryant is healthy, they will won the championship.
This one was embarrassing! Damn!
USA's next game against Manu Ginobili and the Argentinians for the bronze medal. I hope Team USA will win this time.

I'm not surprised either. I'm actually glad that they lost. They think they can roll out of bed and beat anyone. If Coach K can't get them to win USA basketball is going to have a tough time in international play for a long time. I'm especially glad that they lost to Greece who has zero NBA players on their roster. Maybe this will help NBA players get over themselves a little.

It is not shocking when your team, totally, abandons team play, don't play defense, take jump shots the entire game, and stand around while the other team makes lay-ups. I watched coach k and just felt so bad for him. You could tell that it was eating him up inside but what do you expect from millionaires playing street ball as if they were back in da hood! If we bring MJ, Bird, Magic, Barkley, Robinson, and the rest of the 92 Dream Team back, we'll win again but if not, we'll keep doing the same thing with these heartless, so-called professionals.

what a failure... i knew this would happen again, because we didn't do anything different... here's whyi don't think it was shocking
1) not bringing back allen iverson and tim duncan. these guys weren't the reason we lost in athens. larry brown was.
2) making lebron, wade, and melo captains. this was a huge mistake. the only one of these three whose game is suited for the intreantional play is melo, because he can play against zone. lebron is not leader, he's overrated. but none of these guys are great leaders.
3) no shooters. this was the problem last time. instead of getting shooters, we did the same thing, overload on slashers, we should of had gilbert arenas, michael redd, brent barry, among others
4) dukefest... why was shane battier on this team
5)no kobe, i know he was injured but if kobe is on this team in 2008, they will not lose.

You all said the right word...TEAM...Greek players put their team above themselves.Defence is played well, when all the players work TOGETHER. Greece not only won, but won easily, been ahead with 10-14 points half the game..That's all for me...I'm going to the center of Athens to celebrate and prepare for Sunday's final...
