I've been to several beaches in the MD, Delaware, NC and NJ but haven't seen a beach with calm waters. All the beaches have big waves and for surfing. Are there any beaches with calmer waters in the East Coast? Or do I have to go all the way to Caribbean to see calm beaches? Thanks

I would like to vaction down south maybe in North Carolina or South Carolina. I am not sure really just as long as it has a country feel to it. Please make any suggestions of what state & town to visit, hotels, if they have a website please include that in your answer.

I'm 16. I'm going to the US next month, and I'll be staying with some relatives. But I want to visit a friend in another state, and I was wondering whether I'll be able to do this. I've checked and traveling won't be a problem, since I'm over 15... but will I be able to stay at any hotel, even if an adult books it for me?
