They haven't given a definite answer yet. But, it certainly looks that way.

Following a comprehensive review of the Company's assets, Six Flags, Inc. (NYSE: SIX) today announced its decision to explore potential strategic options with respect to six of its properties. The properties are: Six Flags Darien Lake (outside Buffalo, New York); Six Flags Waterworld (Concord, California); Six Flags Elitch Gardens (Denver, Colorado); Wild Waves and Enchanted Village (outside Seattle, Washington); Six Flags Splashtown (Houston, Texas); and Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor (near Los Angeles, California).

It's looks like the city is trying to cut a deal to keep the park open.

it quite is user-friendly! On a worldwide flight you will arrive at LAX. From there in simple terms take a Van Nuys Flyaway bus to the Van Nuys terminal. as quickly as there stand top in front of the station on Woodley street and take a Santa Clarita Transit bus to Valencia transit middle path # 796 i've got faith. on the Valencia transit middle you're in simple terms down the line from Magic Mountain and the community path 3 can take you in the present day there. entire value for the holiday $7.00 ($3.50 for Flyaway) + ($3.50 for the Santa Clarita Transit 796 bus) Get a unfastened circulate from the 796 for use on the community path 3 as much as the park. stable success! observe; while you're arriving on a Saturday, then the routing will might desire to be slightly distinctive. if so take a Flyaway bus to Union Station in downtown la and take a Metrolink practice to Valencia/Newhaul Station. No transit service is accessible between those areas on a Sunday.

I'd heard the same thing. Didn't know if it was rumor or fact. However, consider how valuable that land is in today's real estate market. Makes sense.
