Yes, Its not as great as it use to be. The water is no longer blue, its dirty like any other dirty beach water. The beach is a bit cleaner than Galveston. You will be closer to the border and you'll probably go across to have more fun and get into trouble. So, to answer your question go somewhere else. Sorry, for the disappointment!

I just got back from Port Aransas, it was beautiful. Stay in the Sand Castles Condos, they furnish everything (glasses, pots, pans, full kitchen, etc) each room has a balcony overlooking the pool and the gulf.

I went there a long time ago. I am a Texan but do not live in that area. When I went it was really great. Lots of beach, hotels right on the waterfront. Lot's of tourists and everything that goes with them.
