I love Gatlinburg. We go 2 or 3 times a year. Look up Smoky Mountains on internet and explore all the cabins. Dollywood is great if you like amusement parks. Splash Country is great if you like Water parks. Pigeon Forge, which is 5 miles away, has great musical shows. Country Tonight is the best and Comedy Barn is the funiest. Drive through Cades Cove to see wild deer, turkeys and hopefully a bear. This is a free drive. Drive the Roaring Fork Nature Trail in Gatlinburg, It's free. Ripley's Aquarium is really nice. Walk to the top of Clingmans Dome. Plenty of shops in Gatlinburg and malls in Pigeon Forge. Both towns are close enough together so no matter which town you stay in, you can visit the other. Only motels are cheaper in Pigeon Forge. Stop at a rest area in Tn and pick up brochures and discount ticket books. Have fun

I lived in Gatlinburg for a year...it is very touristy!
That being said it is still a beautiful place to visit....Mid to late May should have a lot of things in bloom!
Definitely tey to get a small cabin or chalet you can retreat and relax in!

Lots of Trails in the Smokeys you can walk an hour or a day!

There are a few places on the strip (Gatlinburg)where you can eat, drink, and listen to live music!

You dont have to go river rafting although its great!
Ask the locals where to go Flint Rock etc, Where you can just take a raft and swim...The water will be very cold!!!!

Have fun

My best advice to you is DON'T. We were just there this spring. What a madhouse. If you want to have your honeymoon in an amusement park, that's your choice. But if you'd like to see the Smoky Mountains and enjoy the beauty of the area, go to the OTHER side of the park; stay in Townsend or one of the other towns in that vicinity. There are many lodges on that side of the park with gorgeous accomodations. It took us two hours to drive six miles, from one end of Gatlinburg to the other, and we were just looking to see what it was all about. Start with the links below.

There are lots of crowds there, but there's lots to do. It's also close to Pigeon Forge there's a lot of Factory Outlets Centers. Dollywood is in Pigeon Forge. There's Cade's Cove where you can hike, horseback ride, bicycle through it or just drive through. Also Cherokee NC is about an hour or two across the mountain where Harraha's Casino, and an indian villiage is located. There's so much to do if you like this kind of stuff that you'll never run out of things. You should check it all out on the internet. Hope this helps.

Wow, I went there for sPring Break and TONS of new couples with the sign 'just married' on their car are driving around. Well. In Peigion Forge(spelling?) there is a place called Dixie Stampede that is great! If you like southern stuff, there you go. Rent a beautiful cabin. They are great! I stayed in a cabin on a road called Indian Court. i think.. yeah. I forgot who we rented it from. In Gatlinburg, They have an Aquarium. You can 'walk&shop' along their shoppin' strip. They have like a 4 story mall somewhere around there. I dont know, im only 13 and I had so much fun!!!! Youll have fun too. I highly recommend Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. Well, Congratz!!

Explore the new 1.3 million gallon Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, ride the country's largest aerial tram to the top of Ober Gatlinburg, shop at over 400 unique shops, galleries and boutiques or travel the 8-mile loop of the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, the largest gathering of independent artisans in the country.

What an incredible theory! I took my fiancee there for his birthday final summer season. the autumn is a captivating time by way of captivating, captivating wood (think of how captivating our environment is for photos). And the climate isn't insufferable strolling alongside the strip with the summer season long previous. I observed some web content that somebody published that appeared like some good ones. often the cabins are clustered at the same time on a street, so it would be great in case you need to reserve all of them at the same time, then you definately ought to all rigidity all the way down to the "city" and save on parking (and, of direction, spend time at the same time). as quickly as we went some exciting thiings we did have been: took a quick hike (a sprint over a mile) to a captivating waterfall, went circulate-cart racing on the three-tale tracks, Ripley's have self assurance-it-or-no longer!, The Aquarium (and you will relatively purchase those all at a decreased fee at the same time until eventually now the holiday). i'm hoping this helps!

I went there for my honeymoon. Stayed in a cabin for a week...had a hottub and fireplace....things to do...Lots of shopping. A few sights like Ripley's believe it or not. Pigeon forge isn't far away (amusement park) Ober Gatlinburg has a ski lift and such...google them, look for the chamber of commerce and have them send you info on the area. Coolest thing...I thought, was the drive through Cades Cove. All sorts of animals, trails, old cabins, churches waterfalls etc to see.....have fun.

Gatlinburg is a beautiful place. You can get information from lodges sent to you. Just make sure you book ahead of time because the rooms get taken quickly. Plus some places are cheaper if you book ahead of time.

Contact the Chamber of Commerce. They will send you info on the area! I got married there. It was nice.

Make sure to visit Cades Cove (if you like nature and animals) either late in the evening or early in the morning. I'd also ride the sky lift. It's a neat view. Horseback riding is also fun on the mts.
