I would like to vaction down south maybe in North Carolina or South Carolina. I am not sure really just as long as it has a country feel to it. Please make any suggestions of what state & town to visit, hotels, if they have a website please include that in your answer.

Myrtle Beach! Close by is Conway - Georgetown, Calabash, and a host of Southern feel towns. Charleston is not far. And you get all that the Grand Strand has to offer (Nascar, House of Blues, Barefoot Park, Broadway at the Beach, 60 miles of beaches, tons of mini-golf, fun parks, entertainment, clubs, etc.

I live here, so let me chime in.
1. Smoky Mountains. Vacation in the TN side though, not the NC side....TN has Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, which are VERY touristy but fun. The mountains themselves are great.
2. Myrtle Beach, of course...if you're a beach person.
3. Charlotte, NC for the "big city" feel...it's a nice city, unlike many southern cities.
4. The "Outer Banks" of NC...more beaches, with a less "touristy" feel than Myrtle Beach.

Go to Townsend TN.
I used to live in TN and in Western NC. This was one of our favorite spots. It is close to Gatlingurg and Pigeon Forge (which are very busy with lots to do), but is quieter and much more country feeling. Also, it is close to cades cove which is a natural beauty.
They also have a live passion play that is top notch.

Franklin is nice and they do have Motels. Get on line and search Franklin's accommodations. Also outside of Ashville is a good place to visit. OOPS these towns are in NC.
