San Francisco! Best place in the world to mingle with the widest possible assortment of people. And there are beautiful museums, concert halls and the like, if you want to be cultured. There is great shopping, including Chinatown and Japan Town. And please don't forget to take a ride on the cable cars. Have some seafood and sourdough bread on Fisherman's Wharf, check out the night life in North Beach, and generally have a great time.
One warning: hotels are very expensive downtown. Or rather, the cheap ones in the Tenderloin, which is near downtown, will gross you out and the expensive ones will be very expensive indeed. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) makes it easy to stay in a hotel or motel in Oakland or out in the western part of the city (or even Daly City) and save a bundle of money that way.

Montreal, Quebec City. You could start in Burlington, VT and head north, although Burlington is a little small for a big city. Boston is still quite warm this time of year.

Well, I live in St. Louis, Mo. People always come here to get out of the heat, and they are always surprised, that it gets really hot here, so dont come here I guess.
Why not somewhere in Canada, like Ontario or Qubeece. Or maybe Seatle, New York, and of course Alaska.
Hope you have fun where ever you go!

Niagara, Yellow Stones, or a Castle like hotel resort called Mohonk in upstate New York. If you pick the last one, you can combine it with Niagara, maybe... Else you can cross the border to Canada.

Why don't you go North??
If you want big cities, Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa are all cool cities. They are definately not super warm. If you don't want to hit Canada, then go to the East Coast. NYC, Boston or DC.
