What are some things to do in Los Angeles? I am not much into clubs. I hear its very dangerous there? Someone told me if I go there I can get into a car accident or get shot. Is this true or are they exaggerating?

Once I get there what are some nice things I can do? Also, what is a nice hotel I can stay at that is mid range but very nice. Thanks.

Can you give a brief description of each place as you see it, as well as a few of the pros and cons of living in either of these two coastal areas of beachfront LA and Orange County?

I'm looking specifically for something within walking distance of the Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. All the hotels I'm finding are super expensive ($300+ a night), or look very shabby and junky- like motel style. Are there any hotels in that area by the beach that are nice and between $100 and $250 a night? Thanks.

I'm flying with United Airlines towards end of this month and according to this map: http://www.ifly.com/los-angeles-international-airport/terminal-map I'm guessing that my flight will land at Terminal 8 between 60 to 68 and the thing is my friend will be picking me up at the Arrivals. Since it's my first time flying into LAX - where do I tell my friend to pick me up in the Arrivals? Do you know if all Terminals have both Arrivals and Departures at the same spot or are they both located at a different place at LAX?

I'm thinking of going to school in LA and I was just wondering if there was a big Caribbean community. I'm just curious if there are people there who share my heritage, but if not it's not a big deal, I still want to go.

Hi, I'm looking to stay by the beach in Los Angeles for a few days to relax and rejuvenate myself over spring break after a stressful semester, and just getting out of a long term relationship unexpectedly. I want to be close to Venice Beach and the Sant Monica Pier. Keep in mind I will be going alone, and will stay 2-3 nights. Thanks.

My husband and I are contemplating a move from Dallas to Southern California. His new job would be in Costa Mesa. Any suggestion on where we should live? Our kids are grown, so it's just the two of us. Thanks in advance!

I am doing some volunteer work down in Los Angeles and will be staying not too far from the Hollywood Greyhound stop area- what should I do for fun? where should i eat? where can I do some great shopping (for cheap)? Let me know a little bit about the area. So far the only 'fun' thing on my agenda is to go to a movie at the Sunset 5.
