A place to see los angeles at night where it's nice and cheap or no cost at all. Any reccomendations?

I know this is going to sound rediculous, but the very top floor of the parking structure at the Grove on Fairfax has a pretty nice view.

I would go up the the newly re-opened Griffith Observatory. The view is great and it is a cool place to take someone for not much money! In fact I have heard it is free or only a very small fee for the shuttle from the bottom of the hill on Vermont.

Mulholland Drive. You can park along the side in some spots and watch the lights. Also, try the restaurant Yamashiro's. The menu might be pricy but you can just get some drinks. You can also visit the Griffith Observatory but it's not open real late.

To see almost the entire Los Angeles basin go to the lookout at Mt Wilson.

I think most camera buffs go to Griffith Park or Mulholland Dr. for their best shots.....
