I'm arriving in LAX at around 1.30pm, how much time does it take to get to Union Station? Is there a direct rail or shuttle link?

yes the best way is the flyway to Union station
it runs every 1/2 hour and cost $3.00 each way
if for some reason you cant afford that $3.00 fare
you can use transit from Lax
to this take a Parking Lot c bus to the Lot C walk
over to the city bus center, and board line 42 (cost is $1.25)
which will take to union station,, the trip will take about a hour..
(there also an express line 439 cost for that is $1.50.)
also will take you to Union station,

0the last option

another option (if you like rail-this would cost you the same
as the flyway ($3.00 if you get a day pass)
you take the G shuttle to the Green Line station
buy a day pass
then take the Green Line to the Rosa park station,
then board the Blue line to 7th/Metro station
then the Red or Purple line to Union station

The Flyaway bus will only take you to Van Nuys which is further away from Union Station than the airport, Take a cab $ 24.00 one way to downtown or a supershuttle Van Pool which is located by the baggage claim area on the lower level of the airport.
