Does any one know if relocation specialists really help. I won't be able to travel to florida to fill out any apartment app. Any suggestions or tips.

I will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice in August of 2008. I want to become a firefighter but am recently burnt out. I want to move to Oahu for one year and live my dream. I have wanted to move to Hawaii since I was at least 17 (now 22). I am this close to buying my one way ticket for September. Only thing is I am worried about my parents, they want me to get my paramedics license, and get everything now. They are sort of strict. I have quite a bit of money in the bank and will be using that. I feel if I tell them what I am doing they will say no and not let me go. I think if I buy the ticket now, wait until May when I graduate and tell them, it would be too late for them to stop me. I want to have a roomate before I move to tell them I found a place. I am just worried about my parents stopping me from doing this and not letting me use my bank money. Plus I will be 23 when I leave and just turn 24 when I get back. What should I do?

Mind you I live in NYC, so I can handle a little bit of grit. I'm looking for a place to buy a home to rent out for a few years until I am ready to move. I have visited the area but always to vacation, so I am not as familiar with the suburbs. I've found homes online in the 200-250 range that looked okay, but I don't know the neighborhoods. Thoughts?
