Ruby Falls, Rock City, the Incline Railroad, the river walk, the aquarum, the Chattanooga Choo Choo- there is tons of fun stuff to do there and it's not a dirty, crime filled city at all. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure. (you can get a combination ticket for a slightly reduced rate for the 1st three attractions I listed and they are all fun and interesting)

Go to the riverfront area, there's a huge park, carousel, and a nice walking bridge that crosses the Tennessee River. You also have to go to Clumpies for ice cream. It's near the riverfront, and the waffle cones are the best I've ever tasted. You'll fall in love with the smell of them when you first walk in the door.

I've always loved walking around Coolidge Park. The Tennesse Aquarium is nice and much warmer than the park :0)
Or you could see a show at the Imax. . .it's not too expensive.

if you are in to history, some of the biggest battles of the civil war were fought there, ck out lookout mountain, military ridge, chicamaugas battlefields, otherwise, just like all big cities, dirty, crime, and high priced.
