Does anyone know of a really great place to stay in Colorado without spending over $150 per night? Preferably close to public transportation that will take you to the ski resorts. We are thinking Breckenridge but are open to suggestions.

I'm new to this state, i just moved here about 2 weeks ago. um i'm only 18 years old and i was jw what there is to do? i'm currrently in shippensburg and i live with my bf and his mother,so we can't travel that far b/c she's the only one that has the car. so plz let me know some fun and cool stuff to do. thanks :)

Here are the requirements:

Lower crime area
Walkable town - (Lots of restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance)
Young professional, students, couples....etc..
Relatively inexpensive rent/leases (around $800 per month or less)
Pet friendly areas (perhaps with dog parks)
Close to Parks and great downtown city views (Maybe even close to the lake??)

Hopefully I'm not limiting myself here by narrowing down the places I want to live. It's just that I'm looking for as many of these things as possible.

I am a Houstonian who visited NYC in 1999 and loved it. On the Houston forum on here, Houstonians say it is crappy. I personally feel that NYC has WAY more culture and history than Houston. Given that I only stayed a few days, are my fellow Houstonians correct.................I am inclined to say no.

I use metro about 3~4 times a week going back and forth.
usually pay about 1.35 or 2.15 depends on where I go

I've looked on a "week pass" which is $33 but it's more than what I would spend for a week.
I'm a high school student but there doesn't seem to be discount for students.

I'd like to make a smart card so I don't have to get a ticket everytime but where do i make a card? and how do I know how much money left in it?

And Is the ticket more expensive during the rush hour?
if so, what range of time is rush hour? cuz I sometimes use metro after 7 p.m. and I was wondered if the ticket's cheaper.

I will be graduating college soon with a Marketing degree and I am looking to move to Colorado. I am assuming Denver would be the best place for jobs. I am willing to commute about an hour. I would like to live in a small town with around 3000 people at the most 5000. I would like a town with shops and eateries, (kind of like a main street usa feel.). I know this is a shot in the dark, but I thought someone on here should know a place! I have been looking online and found Evergreen, Lafayette and others, but they aren't suiting my needs. In 2005 I stayed in the Patio Motel. The name has since changed. Has anyone stayed there since the name changed. Is it still a decent hotel. Should I go back to that hotel. Was it affected by Katrina??????
