In 2005 I stayed in the Patio Motel. The name has since changed. Has anyone stayed there since the name changed. Is it still a decent hotel. Should I go back to that hotel. Was it affected by Katrina??????

Here is the link to the Patio Motel. It is now an America's Best Value Inn and Suites.

Tulane Avenue was damaged heavily by the storm, some of it is back in business, but it's still pretty messed up. I would suggest you call and ask all the questions you want answered, i.e. open amenities in the immediate area. Of course, you are only a 10 minute (at the most) taxi ride from the center of the City's fun.

If you want my opinion, I wouldn't stay there. Look at the following site, it will give you a few choices.

look around a bit first before deciding on the Patio Motel.

Enjoy your stay in New Orleans and be safe.

Yes. That area of the city was heavily damaged by Katrina, and is still in a rebuilding process. You are well advised to stay somewhere else. No way I would stay in that area of the city.

Are you talking about the one on Tulane Ave? I think it's a Best Western now and from what I see, the place is a dump in a bad neighborhood.
