I haven't heard of a camp site there, there is a cheap military only hotel. The Hale Koa.

Are you talking about Kilauea Military Camp? It's an area set aside on the Island of Hawaii near Volcanoes National Park that is designated for military only.

There is also Bellows Camping area (in Waimanalo) that is designated for military only and has cabins and camping areas so you can either get a cabin type with full kitchen or "rough it" in your tent and cold water shower.

Either campsite is booked well in advance and is prioritized by rank, status (active, retired, or reserves), and preference for camp site.

Hope that helps......

way can't you control him? Your bigger, stronger and the parent. Why do you need some one else to discipline your child? Those camps are the most dangerous thing you can do to a kid. You live in Florida so I'm sure you heard about the 13 year old that was beat to death by the consolers while the doctor stood there, let it happen and pronounced him once it was over. You should have also heard the countless stories of kids going to the hospital after be malnourished and dehydrated by the camps "daily routine". You want your son to go though that?

Bellows AFB has the beach camp site and cottages. Navy has Beach Cottages as what used to be Barbers Point at White Plains Bech and Nimitz Beach. see website below for Navy MWR information and activities in Hawaii. There are also military cottages on the Big Island.

I dont know if this is the one you are refering to but the one I know of is called Bellows Airforce Beach. Its on a military base on Oahu and it has a beautiful beach. I spoke to someone on the plane in 3 weeks ago and he said that he really enjoyed camping there and it was the best part of his trip. Good luck

Absolutely Bellows. But be sure you get the restricted days and time list. Bring lots of bug spray, surf toys for kids, you can have campfires...Polo up the street? It's where they film alot of ABC Lost episodes. You will have a drive form Waikiki but also beautiful. Hale Koa is the one to make Mom/wife happy. Right on Waikiki Beach. Get rid of the kids find Jimmy Borges (Jazz legend now Don is gone) , say hey from Kimberly and just enjoy the beach and city lights. Pure magic! OOps then kids. Stop at Hanauma Bay with snorkels and fins in Hawaii Kai before you go to the other side. Check out even Sandy Beach, the From Here To Eternity Beach & Blow Hole. All on your way.

ps. I could give ya my Father's address too but he is not as friendly as I am :) You shall pass his home on the way also!

You can go West side , not,EAST side is way better!! Been to both. And Bellows for over 20 yrs. Book there !!

Bellows on Oahu? Look for Bellows Airfield. It offers camping and lodging for the military.
