There are casinos in Aurora and E. Peoria (which is getting kind of far away from Chicago itself). I don't go to these, so I can't tell you if they are any good. Wisconsin might have some stuff, if you like the cold.

Otherwise in Chicago there is plenty to do. Museums are Science and Industry, Field Museum of Natural History (great dinos), Art Institute, Shedd Aquarium.
