They both have a lot to offer. It depends where your interests are. Animal Kingdom has many animal attractions and has an African type atmosphere. MGM has many TV / movie attractions. Personally, if you can only get to 1, I would go with MGM.

Obviously if you love animals go to animal kingdom, if you love movies go to MGM. Although it isn't that simple I think MGM has two really good rides in Tower of Terror and Rock n rollercoaster but there isn't much more unless your with kids. Theres the great movie ride which is quite entertaining and muppets 3D which isn't my favourite 3D show and the old star wars ride. Animal kingdom still has Expedition Everest for the thrill seekers and Dinosaur which is a little more tame but still exciting. However there are quite a few more attractions here such as the safari, the kali river rapids, dinoland USA and of course all the animals.

Probably the best decision will be made by looking at the websites and seeing which suits your party more.

My vote would be for Animal Kingdom.. BE (before Everest) Animal Kingdom was the 4th popular park, AE (after Everest) it is a Solid #3 ahead of MGM and often its attendance even exceeds that of EPCOT. MGM on the other hand has not really added an E-ticket type of attraction since Rock and Roller Coaster which was several years ago. The shows at Animal Kingdom are better with the Nemo and Lion King shows.

Personally, I'm an MGM fan. To really enjoy Animal Kingdom, you have to take it in a bit more like a zoo and less like a theme park. It does have rides, of course. But you could run from ride to ride and be done in just a few hours. To get the full effect, you have to linger around and watch animals. That's not my favorite thing to do, so I don't enjoy it as much as MGM.

There's a lot of good rides at MGM (FYI, it will soon be called Disney's Hollywood Studios). My favorite Disney ride is there, Tower of Terror. Rock n Roller Coaster is also really good. Some of the old rides I still love, like The Great Movie Ride and Muppets 3-D.

I lover animal kingdom. It was great! They even have a new ride that opened this year, a roller coaster type that goes through what happens to a forest during when humans mess with it by cutting down the trees. The shows are good. If you real like animals I would pick that over MGM.

MGM. Animal Kingdom is great, but can be done easily before the park closes, which is earlier than the other parks.
You can't miss the night show at MGM, it's amazing.

MGM, shows and rides for all ages. I love Animal Kingdom, but it is my least favorite of all the parks. I am not into Zoos and basically this is a zoo with out bars. The rides and shows are great there, but I hate animals not living in their natural environment just for human viewing.

If you like movies and thrill rides, visit MGM. If you like being outdoors and/or seeing lots of animals, visit Animal Kingdom.

I personally like Animal Kingdom, more specifically Hambre Village within Animal Kingdom is my favorite spot. I could sit there all day and just take in the sights and sounds. I've been told by several of my friends that have been to Africa, that Hambre Village looks exactly like Africa.
