Since Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee died, the JP sheriff's election has been pushed to November, and qualifying will re-open for this election. Of course, Harry would have won again in a landslide. Now it's a different ballgame.
One of the candidates has already filed suit to try to block the re-qualifying process, saying that the election should proceed as scheduled on the regular date, without re-opening the qualifying process.
The candidates who have qualified already will have to re-qualify. Do you think that's fair to the candidates already on the ballot? Opinions?
