Go the the Chicago Fire game against Galaxy..( i dont know how long ur staying)
Go the museums!
Go to the water tower place(its a mall, but it looks awesome).

You can check chicago.metromix.com to see if there are any concerts or other fun things going on.
Around that time six flags opens up its Haunted House
The Art Institute is beautiful!, stop by there.

Just walk downtown, u can see Picasso's creations, and around the city they had painted cows everywhere...but now i believe is some other theme. See how many of those u can find!
Go to the the Espn place...
Go to old orchard mall
Go to greek town! And have some Moussaka(its really good).

I think those sound great. When you say Zoo though, there are 2. Brookfield Zoo and Lincoln Park Zoo. Lincoln Park Zoo is in the city near the lakefront in the North Side of the city, but Brookfield is a lot larger and has cooler stuff. You would need a car to get to it, or Metra (train).

Otherwise if you can get Cubs tickets, do it. But they are all sold out for the playoffs as far as I know, so ticket brokers might be your only option and they are $$$$ pricey. Bears game tickets are easier to come by, but be ready for crazy rowdy behavior towards the end of the game.

Navy pier is cool, you an go on the ferris wheel and see the city. They also have some special events there sometimes, and shops.

I recommend taking a chicago river boat tour or a segway tour. They are great to learn about chicago and see the sights.

There will also be the Chicago International Film Festival from Oct 4-17. They have films from all over the world and they are usually shown there pre-release.

I would also check out Second City Theater or IO Theater. They both have great comedy shows every night of the week. You will laugh your face off.

The zoo is quite good. Definitely take in the Field Museum, it is nearby, lots of cool stuff in there (including two lions -- stuffed now -- that killed hundreds of people). Consider a boat ride. Look at the architecture (it is phenomenal). Have a drink at the top of the Sears tower -- it will have to be non-alcoholic. There is a very good art museum (don't gag, it is true!) that has great exhibits of medieval weaponry and the like. You will like it, I promise! Walk around and take in the city. It will be colder than you think though, so bring a good coat!

Sasquatch ya GOTTA go see the "Field Museum"!

http://www.fieldmuseum.org/

They have loads of interesting stuff including the "Tsavo Lions"

Never heard of the Tsavo Lions? They were two killer African lions that had killed and eaten almost 140 people in Africa over a 9 month period in 1898.
The lions held up construction of a railroad bridge over the Tsavo River because hundreds of workers fled in terror...afraid for their lives

There's a great movie about that incident called "The Ghost And The Darkness" from 1996 that starred Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas. Ya GOTTA rent it before you go to the museum!

http://www.us.imdb.com/title/tt0116409/

The Field Museum also has "Sue"...the world's largest, most complete, best preserved and most famous T. rex fossil yet discovered.

It's an AMAZING museum.
