I must say that the Grand is pretty Grand! There is something to say about staying on the monorail track. The hotel is kind of too quite for me though.
I personally love the concierge at the BoardWalk. If you get a BoardWalk view room, sometimes you can have a partial view of the fireworks at EPCOT, I just think their rooms are better, though their Garden Suites are sooo nice, and cute! They have an amazing honeymoon one!
As far as discounts go, talk to the WDW Travel Company they will see that they can swing, or you could go through an authorized third part like http://www.orlandofuntickets.com
Have fun and just enjoy all of the offerings at WDW!

Grand Floridian is a great hotel, fantastic service, wonderful concierge, etc. I've stayed there many times before and I've always been happy. However, all of Disney's hotels give really great service, and once you enter the deluxe level of resorts, you will find that all of them have top of the line service. Because of that, I would suggest looking into the hotel that interests you the most. Just because Grand is the most expensive hotel, doesn't always mean it is the best choice for you.
If you like the look of Boardwalk better than Grand, then that may be the better choice. I personally like Polynesian, I just like the restaurant options, decor, etc. better than Grand, so I tend to stay there more often. I rotate among the deluxe resorts for my stays, but probably stay at Polynesian, Yacht and Beach Club and Boardwalk the most.
When I consider the best, I think that all of the Disney hotels qualify with concern to the service, it really is top of the line. So, I would definitely take the time to research hotels a little more before booking Grand Floridian just because it is the highest price.
As far as free tickets, that definitely won't happen. If you get a package there is a discount for getting everything together, and more than likely they will have a special as well, but free tickets is not something Disney offers... The special may offer you free dining, free upgrades on tickets, just a set amount off your total, etc. The only time Disney gives extra special treatment is for large groups, weddings, etc.
I really don't think you will be dissapointed with any of the Disney resorts, and especially the deluxe resorts... If you want to be absolutely certain you are getting top of the line everything, then concierge level at Grand Floridian should suit your needs.
Hope this helps!

I just recently stayed at the grand Floridian for 6 nights! It was amazing! The decor was great and the service was exceptional. There is no other place like this on Disney property! The rooms are very spacious and the monorail service is great. I did not stay in a concierge room, but it was still 5 star to me! The Polynesian is also very nice but still not quite as nice as the Grand. One plus on the Polynesian is that it is walking distance to the transportation center and then you can catch buses easier, and they also have the monorail at the hotel and transportation center! Ask to sit in the front car! It's amazing up there! My personal experience is that the grand is definitely the best hotel. And no you cannot get free park tickets. Hope this helps!

One thing that I've heard about the Grand Floridian is, despite the 'adultness' of the setting, it's a kid magnet since it is one stop away from the Magic Kingdom on the monorail. Though I eat every year at Citricos & relax in the lobby afterwards and I find nothing that I personally find objectionable kidwise (of course they could all be in bed by then). The concierge level might be better.
One perk that I've learned from the Travel Channel about the Animal Kingdom Lodge is that if you stay in their concierge rooms, you can get an early morning safari ride at the theme park before the park opens that takes it's sweet time to look at the animals (and early morning they tend to be active). But the AK lodge is possibly the furthest hotel from the MK.
But to go along with 'theming', what park is the most important to you. If it's Epcot, you might prefer Boardwalk & Yacht & Beach Club, which allow you to walk right into the park through a special entrance (and exit the evening fireworks avoiding the crowds the same way), but for the MK you have to get on a bus that stops at several resorts. But if you are primarily a MK fan, you would probably want to be on a monorail resort, but for those you have to change monorails to go to Epcot (or get on a bus that serves several hotels for the other 2 parks). Some people actually split their trips over 2 or more resorts, both to have variety in accomodations, as well as to be more convenient to different parks. But also, some features of the resorts (dining, shopping, and just walking the grounds and sitting in the lobby) are available to anyone who visits them, so you can get dining reservations at Jiko or Boma and get to see the animals at the Animal Kingdom Lodge without having to stay there, or reservations at Citricos and enjoy the orchestra & pianist in the lobby before and after dinner.

If your looking for the highest level of luxury then the Grand Floridian is the place to stay. The concierge level will be a very special treat and you will get the best of the best of the legendary Disney hospitality. If you can afford it then I believe its very well worth it.
If you book a vacation package with Disney you will get a better deal on ticket prices since the tickets, room, and even dining (if you want that option) will all be consolidated into your vacation package. I strongly recommend you begin by browsing through the official Walt Disney World website where you can get lots of information and book your vacation:

Have Fun!

The Grand Floridian is the best of all the Disney Hotels. The rooms are very tastefully decorated victorian style and you couldnt ask for better service. They cater to your every desire. They have a really great spa too.
I dont think you will be able to get free tickets just for staying at that hotel. They might upgrade you to a bigger room, but thats as far as that goes.
I would check out this website for some good tips about Grand Floridian and everything it has to offer!

Disney considers the Grand Floridian it's "best" resort on property.
The biggest differences in the deluxe resorts is their themes-find which "theme" is "best" for you and you will have a fantastic time!
Disney is definately not going to give away the theme park tickets for free-theme parks is where they make the majority of their money.

I think the ones you listed are the only ones that I consider worth visiting. The only one I'd add is the Contemporary but only if you have dinner in its restaurant. I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but it is at the top of the Contemporary and has a great view. Plan your dinner to watch the magic kingdom's fireworks. If you don't go to the Contemporary for dinner then it is not worth a visit. I just got back from the Animal Kingdom Lodge and loved it. I've been to all the resorts you listed and each are worth a visit.

I love the concierge level at the Polynesian. Everyone was so nice and the food was fantastic. The lounge also has a perfect shot of the fireworks over the castle.

Forget the free tickets...lol...funny. It's very nice, I stayed there once, not on the concierge level. I prefer the contemporary, it's more kid friendly, plus I love the monorail going thru the hotel.
