There are 4 subway lines, the red, the orange, the blue, and green lines. But they also have the bus line and the silver line (bus to Logan airport)/
On the different subway lines, there are many stops, and it varies line to line.
In Boston, there are five commuter rail stations. If it is a train from the North like Lowell, Fitchburg, etc, they stop at Porter Square (it's really Cambridge but you can get the red line here) and then at North Station. From the south, lines like the Franklin line, the Middleborough line, they stop at Ruggles, Back Bay, and South Station. But sometimes not all the trains stop at each stop above.
