Are trailers even sold outside the US?

In Europe, particularly in Germany and Spain, there are several disputed trailer parks mostly forcefully or unlawfully placed on squatted land in the midst of urban centres (Berlin, Hamburg, Barcelona). Names for such phenomena include Wagenburg, Wagendorf or Bauwagenplatz (all German, meaning: "trailer castle", "trailer village" and "trailer place" respectively) and people living there are often associated with the punk movement and do it yourself (short DIY) punk ethic. On the whole, however, trailer parks are much less common in these countries than they are elsewhere and in North America and are much less emblematic of a distinct lifestyle and membership to a certain social class.

A somewhat similar type of community existing in Britain, in the form of communities established informally by New age travellers and gypsies.

We have caravan parks here in the U.K.
trailer/caravans are the same right but I believe you can't permanently live on a caravan site here and have to move off the site for 3 months each year otherwise you would be applicable to Council tax which is usually paid when you live in a house.

Yes they have they in Germany in mianz near the Rhine River. I was stationed there for a while with the Army and saw them first hand.

I also believe they are refered to in the movie "snatch" Brad Pitt's character lives in one.
