We are thinking of taking our 3 family to visit there and want to know the best spots and why. Would really like recommendation for a hotel by the beach too, if you have that info it would save a lot of time for us,,, Thanks to all who read or answer this. Zilla Out.

Where would you say are the best FREE places to go in California?
I live in California and it seems that every place charges a fee, even if you just want to go there to get out of your car and walk around, there is a parking fee. I can understand camping fees, hotel fees, if you want to buy food or water or see a show, but there are limits to me and my willingness to pay, so where do you like to go, where you can pack your own lunch, park and just have a good time and leave?

we are planning a road tour of vermont in october of this year. we don't know alot about the area, can anyone recomend any places to stop off and see? maybe some out of the way places that would not turn up with internet searches of points of interest. also is there anything we want to be sure we stop and see? we are just looking to relax and enjoy our trip. thank you for your time and help.
