No. There are no active volcanos in the San Francisco area. There are some extinct volcanos (mountains up to several thousand feet of altitude) within 50 or 100 miles, but they are not active, and have not been so for thousands of years.

This of course does not mean that there is not underground activity--especially seismic activity (earthquakes) every few years. (The last major one was 1989). There is also thermal activity up in the Sonoma County area north of San Francisco, where there are several spas from natural hot springs caused by thermal heating from underground water.

The closest major volcano to San Franciso is clear lake which is about 100 miles to the north. Check out the maps on USGS.gov.

Mount Diablo.About 25 miles east of San Francisco.It's been dormant for about 1000 years.
