I have only passed through the area.
But these sites may help you with information regarding living in Rock Hill.
For statistics,demographics, crime, climate etc:
http://www.city-data.com/city/Rock-Hill-South-Carolina.html
Be sure to read the forums.

And this site has a mass of information on Rock Hill. Including: jobs, transportation, activities/attractions, real estate, businesses, media, government.
The Media gives you links to the local newspapers - a good place to look for employment, rentals etc:

It is an excellent idea to take a trip there first.
Get a feel for the area.
Make sure you talks to as many locals as possible.
You will be able to find out if the city has all the amenities you require.
Business people (not just real estate agents) are another good source of local information.

We live about 40 miles from Rock Hill in Monroe, NC and I love this area. Jobless rate is below national average, the people are nice, taxes are actually lower in SC than here but they are reasonable here, schools in Rock Hill are good. I wish you luck!!
