I am thinking of travelling with the Trans-Siberian railway.
Travelling in December, starting in Vladivostok and finishing in Moscow. Can you give me some advice on the trip? What is useful to bring etc.
I am travelling alone and am a bit worried about Moscow as well. If you have made this journey or been to Moscow recently, please give me some advice on safety etc.

OK, so I've had some suggestions. People always tell me to wear layers. What do they mean by layers? I thought it was one thing but then i read over the internet and people were mentioning jerseys and stuff like that. How can you layer with jerseys under a jacket. In my mind I've set up this idea of wearing an undervest (strappy type), a short sleeved t-shirt, a thin 3/4 or long shirt, a thin cardigan, and a jacket. Is that enough?

I am flying from Charleston, WV to Orlando, FL in 2 weeks and I bought this bag to use as checked luggage. http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.asp?src_page=product_list.asp&level1_id=300&level2_id=307&pdept_id=373&dept_id=&pf_id=31693
I have never flown before and wanted to make sure that this bag would be ok to check on a plane, I have had mixed answers.

We're planning on relocating from Austin to Oregon and although we're not taking (hopefully) any of our big furniture items, we still have personal items like 2 tv's, clothes and other misc personal items that we do not want to leave behind. Any suggestions on a cheaper way of moving?? We're not taking our living room set, washer & dryer and the bedroom sets. Most of our stuff we can't part with is just stuff we've collected over the years, and the kids stuff. So any suggestions would be great!!!

Any suggestions? I'm leaving my nine footer surfboard here since I have mates who'll provide when I'm down there and I had a bag for her but I don't know how to lug around the skateboard. I found a ton of regular skateboard bags but no luck with the longer variety. Plus - it won't fit into my suitcase. Any help is much appreciated.

Can you get in to a nightclub with an expired passport? The photo is pretty old but its all I have. I also have a license document with my proof of age but no picture. Would I be able to get in do you think without my license card?

I recently bought a used suitcase that seems to be branded "Business Mates" and the owner, and I have no idea what the combination is. Is there a way to reset it?

I am not really sure if CASCADE (the 10 pounds box) is considered "hazardous material". I read that BLEACH, or OXIDANTS are not allowed in any kind of baggage so right now, I don't know if they'll allow me with it or not. Because it occupies a lot of space, and if it is considered dangerous, I would left it at home, and get something else in tha luggage.

I just bought a 29" Dockers rolling/spinning suitcase, and I like it a lot. However, it is large. It measures 20" wide x 29" tall x 11" thick, plus expands another 2" thick. The measurements total 60" if I don't use the expansion capability. Most airlines seem to have a 62" limit on size and 44 pounds - after which they will charge you.

I haven't traveled much (but I plan to from now on) and I'm going to China in October. I am worried that this suitcase is too big and I will get charged extra. Air China's limits are 62" and 44 pounds.

I thought about loading it up and weighing it (will do tomorrow), but I thought I'd ask people if they own a suitcase of this size and if they have or have not had problems with checking it in on various airlines.

I guess I could return it and buy the next smaller size, but my trip is for 12 days so I feel like I need a larger bag.

Any and all advice is appreciated!
