This question is probably stupid, but I've never done it so I might as well ask. I'm leaving the country, can I put in my carry on luggage, swisher sweet cigars?

Are those space saver bags [the travel ones where you roll the bag up until the air is released and it compacts the clothes] fine to use in your luggage when going on an airplane over seas or will customs take the clothing out of the bag?

Can I bring it in my carry on? I'm doing SILENT homework on the airplane and read my books but will they confiscate my recorder? Because I need it for my music studies and my teacher gave me some stuff to work on. But the only things I'll really do is my spelling, and my religion lessons, and read my little collection of comic strips, and read Twilight and The People of Sparks, and I know how much people get pissed when they hear an annoying "toot-toot" in a claustrophobic space, plus I'm not going to play it anyway (too lazy for music).

By now it's probably starting to sound like a rant but I guess I'll get to the point:

Will the Security Guard confiscate the recorder and am I allowed to bring it?

In the past I have always sent my Mum and Dad their Christmas presents using USPS (Post Office) surface mail. It would take about 6-8 weeks to get there but was much cheaper than airmail. Now the Post Office tells me it only does airmail. The box weighs about 30 pounds and will cost a couple of hundred dollars to send airmail. Any ideas please - I'm desperate. I can send the box out now in plenty of time for Christmas but I need a cheap, ground or surface method. Thanks.

Someone told me that there is a new policy about passports now when you're going to Mexico - that you don't have to have one after a certain date or something. Does any of this sound right?

I'm in North Carolina this week and would like to bring back some famous CHERRYWINE soft drink for my friends to taste. If I buy some 20 oz. bottles or aluminum cans, do you think they'll explode in my luggage? I don't know if I should put them in my carry-on (small computer case) or my checked bag. My flight back home is only 1 hr.

I want to travel as light as possible. Will be visiting my son and don't want to be bogged down with suitcases. Most of time don't even wear what I've packed.

I am a 16 year old girl, and I'm going to Italy for two weeks in January. I have a lot of questions about what to wear:
1. What kind of jackets?
2. What kind of shoes? Boots? Walking boots?
3. Pants?
4. Scarves? Gloves? Hats?

Also, where do you suggest I get these clothes?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My parents keep bugging me about putting together a Christmas list but most of my needs are traveling expenses. It's obviously too much to ask for a $1500 trip to San Francisco for Christmas but are there any types of gifts certificates or what-nots that my parents could purchase that could reduce my traveling expenses?

I am confused as most webpages say you don't need a passport to move around the EU but why then do we need a passport if we are travelling within the EU? I just don't get it at all. We want to go on holiday but half the blooming budget is taken up with the cots of 3 passports!
Thanks
