Are those space saver bags [the travel ones where you roll the bag up until the air is released and it compacts the clothes] fine to use in your luggage when going on an airplane over seas or will customs take the clothing out of the bag?

Mostly customs will not bother with bags, only when their drug dog reacts on your case you might find that they have opened everything, and they will not put the things back in the space saver bags.

But those bags will add a lot of weight to your luggage and do not save all that much space.

Better pack light and prepare to wash some clothes if needed, so you will be able to lug your own luggage.

I have used them and never had customs mess with them. In fact, I have rarely had my suitcases searched at all.

I did have TSA open my suitcase once. Still no problems with the bags.

BTW, I do have the expensive space saver bags. ... but I have found out that the jumbo ziplocks work better and safe space.

I use the space saver bags that you just roll in my carry on when I travel. I can get so much more in my bag.
