Can I bring it in my carry on? I'm doing SILENT homework on the airplane and read my books but will they confiscate my recorder? Because I need it for my music studies and my teacher gave me some stuff to work on. But the only things I'll really do is my spelling, and my religion lessons, and read my little collection of comic strips, and read Twilight and The People of Sparks, and I know how much people get pissed when they hear an annoying "toot-toot" in a claustrophobic space, plus I'm not going to play it anyway (too lazy for music).

By now it's probably starting to sound like a rant but I guess I'll get to the point:

Will the Security Guard confiscate the recorder and am I allowed to bring it?

Musical instruments are allowed as carry on.
And as a recorder is small, you do not need to do anything special about it.
(Big instruments like cellos and standing bases need an extra ticket, a recorder can be slipped into your pocket if you feel better that way.)

If your recorder is very expensive and you really fear loosing it, go to the nearest store and buy a cheap one to travel with. But forgetting it is your greatest risk.

i suggest calling the airlines and asking,
before i get to the airport
i always call to see if the airplane will be on time or are there any delays.
im pretty sure the airport will tell you if you can bring a recorded or not.
HAVE FUN ON YOUR TRIP! ;)

Yeah, absolutely. There's nothing wrong with taking it. Just put it in your checked luggage instead of your carry-on... you're not going to need it on the plane anyway.
