Sturdy shoes, (mountain boots are the best but if you have nothing else your trainers/running shoes might do for level walking, if you have hills or mountains to conquer ankle height boots are a must.) And wear good socks in them, take a spare pair for when you get wet feed.

Sturdy trousers, in summer jeans are acceptable, but if going high into the mountains, ripcord, or special walking trousers are needed.
T-shirt, sweater.
Bring a warm sweater if you go higher in the mountains.
Waterproof coat, waterproof trousers.

Bring enough food for two days, lunch is mostly your own responsibility, unless the list tells you about it. But do also bring some snack-food, and a kind of emergency food you do not really like but has a lot of energy stored in it, (sucker cubes will do.)
