Packing & Preparation

[Selected]: All categories Travel Travel (General) Packing & Preparation

I'm going backpacking in Europe, and need some underwear to take. It has to be uber comfortable, as I will be walking around in it all day. Also, has to be a thong, as some of my pants, etc show panty lines. I have been looking EVERYWHERE, but can't find anything I love enough to take.
I live in Canada, so finding these things is sometimes really hard.
Also, price is somewhat of an issue. I don't mind spending around $10 on a pair (maybe a bit more) but I've found some pairs at, like, $30, and that's too much considering I need to get four or five pairs!

HELP!

We ordered the passports over 9 weeks ago, and at that point they were saying 6 to maybe 8 weeks. I got mine this week. Now we have one week left before our flight, and my hubby's is still not here. We have asked for a "rush" on it, but they say that is not a guarantee it will be here. My hubby said he will leave without it and then have it Fedex'ed to us there, but I am not sure we can do that???

Our family is planning on taking a big vacation to Europe this summer and we want to take along a couple interpreters for unforeseen language barriars. I mean I know there are interpreters provided at certain vicinities like museums, but incase we need direction or are in a bind or something like that.

Are there agencies that provide interpreters for vacations like this or do you have to hire someone yourself. Also, about how much does an interpreter(s) cost if this actually is plausible? Thanks for the info!

I'm moving overseas for a couple of years. Has anyone done the same? Do you have tips for packing and luggage (size, type...etc.). I'm thinking 2 rolling duffels and maybe an extra suitcase that I'll pay for (extra luggage). Advice appreciated....

I'm moving to taiwan in the summer. Do you know what's a cheap international shipping company? I don't have much stuff, just 3-5 large boxes of cloths & books, a few guitars, two keyboards (61 key and 76 key, repespectively), and 3-5 small-medium sized boxes of household goods. To ship these items through USPS or UPS would cost me a fortune. That's why I am thinking shipping companies. Genunie answers will be greatly appreciated.

This is only involving 15-20 boxes and a king sized mattress. Some of these quotes from Uhaul, Budget and even PODS is outrageous!

PODS was $3800, the trucks are all around $1500. Any ideas??

I have been on the passport site, and applied for an appointment at one of the regional branches. The problem is I am traveling on April 8th and my appointment is for April 6th, which was the soonest they had. I was hoping to have someone in the know give me some information if this was going to be ok or not. Has anyone used one of those passport services?
