A valid credit card and a couple of hundred dollars cash should be more than sufficient if asked to show funds. I have never been asked for show money.

I have heard of that for gambling junkets, just to show you have the money to bet, but I've never thought of it for a vacation. Credit cards won't work?? I would think about 500 should cover it. Ask you Mom, has she traveled there before. I can't remember anyone mentioning that before when they left the country.
