Yes, you can do that but make sure you wrap it in some bubble wrap to prevent the bottle from breaking. Pack it in the middle of your suitcase. I always put the wrapped bottle in a plastic bag too. Don't want liquor all over my clothes. (just in case)
We always bring back liquor from the Caribbean this way and it perfectly fine.

As long as you check your bag before you go through security, you can bring all the liquids you want. Just be careful it doesnt break on the way home. Dont mark the bag as fragile or it will be handled roughly.

yes you can pack vodka in your case, but you will be lucky get it home in one piece, the way cases are thrown around. You cannot take it in your hand luggage, if you try too it will be taken off you and put in the bin before you board the plane

yes, they actually sell wraps that go around the bottles in case you by more than one and don't want them to break
