You will need a mix. Be prepared for sunny days, rainy days, and cool weather. Have several types of foot wear. I wear a lot of long sleeves but mostly for the bugs. We have a lot of them. No snakes tho, so it's a trade off. Bug spray is a must although the camp knows that already. And Anchorage is a city...anything you may have missed can be purchased here. We even have several Wal-Marts. Make SURE to pack a camera! And keep in mind that a lot of "visitors" stay forever, it truley is a wonderful place to visit and even more so to live.

Plan on lots of cold misty damp days, some warm but not hot days (70-80 degrees). It won't be humid. You will need good boots to keep your feet dry and warm, lots of wool and cotton socks. Sweat shirts/fleece/jeans/shorts/t-shirts. Also plan for mosquitoes like you've never seen (unless you live in down east Maine). A couple of hats.
Wool works well because it keeps you warm even if it gets wet.

Pack warm clothing,,i dont think you will need shorts and tanks.
Also carry some pepper spray for wild animals, and a handgun for protection from the people.

The average temperature from may to september is about 50 degrees. It rarely gets above 60 if it does at all. My suggestion, long sleeves, coats, Hats, thermal socks, lots of blankets ect.
