I have been on the passport site, and applied for an appointment at one of the regional branches. The problem is I am traveling on April 8th and my appointment is for April 6th, which was the soonest they had. I was hoping to have someone in the know give me some information if this was going to be ok or not. Has anyone used one of those passport services?

Do this: Show your plane reservation printout and they'll expedite it quick.

If your going Direct to the Passport issuing office ( not the post office) you can get a same day passport! For your info you can only get this type of appointment/service if traveling within 2 weeks. Call back where you got the appointment and confirm everything since you are traveling so soon. Good Luck

For others info: Many local Post Offices now process passport applications. They offer expedited service but it only moves the passport process up from 8-10 weeks to 5-6 weeks. That expedited service cost $30.00 extra too. the Post office also has photo service for about $15.00

You have to pay to expedite a PP. It's around $60 on top of the normal fee.

when i got my passport i had to apply for it through the post office and it took 8 weeks, there was no way to get it faster so (for the school program i was going with) we were expected to be on top of things and get it early... and i did go after 9/11... i didn't have to have any appointment... i also didn't have access to the internet other than at school so i have never been to the site... idk but you may have to change your travel dates (shrug)
