I am traveling to mainland Spain in May 07 for a week. My passport is valid until June/ July 07 I have contacted the spanish embassy to see if I can travel on this passport and they state that as long as the passport is valid when you are going and when you are coming back you are able to use it. I know for any of the islands the requirements are different.

Please can you help me as I don't know whether to renew my passport before I go or will it be valid?

We are visiting Athens in April with our 8 month-old. Not sure if we need to take our car seat with us for her? We will be hiring taxis and not driving.
Any other travel tip for sightseeing with a baby will be helpful. How convenient is it to use a pushchair around the sights such as Parthenon? Or wld you recommend a baby carrier? Thanks!

Right now the Passport Agency is taking up to 10 weeks to issue passports. Has anyone ever had to call them within 14 days of going on their trip? Their website says to do so. Has anyone done this and what happens? Did you receive your passport in time?

I live in New York, going on a cruise to the Carribean leaving out of Port Canaveral, Florida. People have asked for me to bring back some liquor. I know that liquor bought on an island or on ship will be held by the cruise ship until we return to Florida. However, my concern is how to get it back to New York via plane.

1) What is the best way to protect the bottles in my check-in luggage?

2) I have a wheeled duffel-bag type of bag. Would this be sufficient to protect the bottles (I do not think so as it is soft material throughout), or should I buy a "traditional" suitcase that has a definite shape?
