Does it cost more to mail something from tx to puetro rico than it would to just send it to new york....?

want to send books to a friend, but it is very costly these days, she wants me to send some to her in puetro rico, would it cost more?

It does cost a little bit more, but when sending the books you can go to the Post Office and ask for a Book Rate. don't go to a shipping place they don't give you a good rate.

My guess would be yes, it would cost more, since you'd have to use international shipping. Ground shipping is cheaper, but evidently you can't ship to Puerto Rico by ground.
