I drove this route about 12 years ago and remember it as a nightmare. The roads were not completed and the alternate routes were pretty scarey. What will I need for car insurance and such? How much time should I expect it to take? Any and all advise will be welcomed and appreciated. We are two adults and two late teenaged boys. Twelve years ago was a bad dream. I had to take the shoulder regularly to avoid hitting oncoming passing cars head on. It was nerve wrecking in many ways. I feared for my LIFE! but I will assume things have inmproved there since then How do I go about getting the necessary car insurance? At the boarder? Can I realistically make Queretaro from Laredo in a good day?

I have my period so I'm scared to swim in the beach even with a tampon if there are sharks. I'm staying at a resort. Does anyone know if there are sharks?

We have 3 children 13, 10, and 9. We want to find the best and most economical way to see the Mayan ruins after we are at port. We are only at each port one day.

I have 3 free nights to a hotel in cancun, right on the beach. I have to use these nights up by the end of this year. Due to the time constraint. I have no one to go with. Would it be weird if I go alone during the first week of December? What would I be able to do there alone? How can I meet people?

I will be in Mexico for three weeks in December and January. I am going to travel around Jalisco but wanted to stop in Mexico City for a few days. I will be arriving on December 21st and wanted to know if there is anything special going on in Mexico City on Christmas Eve or Day. If there is nothing going on and everything will be closed, I would rather be on the beach than in a dead city. Alternatively, is there anything going on in Puerto Vallarta or anywhere else in Jalisco on those days that would be worth going for? Any ideas?

At my local mall the exchange rate was $1.00 USD = $10.44 Mexican Pesos.
At Bank of America $10.22 free shipping for exchanges over $1000.00 USD,
Wells Fargo $9.98 after shipping, and
Foreignmoney.com $9.82 after shipping.

Do you know of a website that offers a better exchange rate?.

We were thinking about staying for a week and a half next May at a resort in Mexico. Where is the nicest, yet cheapest resort for a couple to go? I'd appreciate links, or even the name of a resort that I can look into. THANK YOU!!!

What are the prices in some of these night clubs for drinks? We are staying in an all inclusive but would like to venture out. Just trying to figure out how much money to bring along.

My brother is going to study in mexico city from February to June, so I will go there for 2 weeks (not 2 weeks in mexico city, I want to move!). When would be the best period to go (I want to avoid the hurricanes and spring break students...), and what should I absolutely see? I'd love to see archeologic sites, which ones are the best? And of course, couple of day at the sea! And if you know some good places to stay for the night (cheaper as possible, I don't really care about comfort, but I would love little places in the jungle for example), let me know! Muchas Gracias from Belgium!
