We were thinking about staying for a week and a half next May at a resort in Mexico. Where is the nicest, yet cheapest resort for a couple to go? I'd appreciate links, or even the name of a resort that I can look into. THANK YOU!!!

What you are asking is the impossible here. Because "Cheapest, yet nicest" doesn't belong in the same sentence. You are talking the old saying of "Champagne on a beer budget".

Now if you are thinking reasonable prices, however yet a decent property that is a different story. Make sure to have advance purchase as that will help you with prices. Many travel agents have promo codes, however a lot of these are starting to expire in Nov. and Dec.

I would highly suggest trying your local travel agent. If you find a good one they can qualify you to figure out which they feel is the best location, resort and within your budget (this depends though if you have a realistic budget). Travel is up this year in cost. They are trying to encourage people to book in advance as opposed to those getting last min. deals. Those that plan in advance should get better prices, outside of bereavement fares which is totally different.

Please though, don't call your local agent to just use them for information and then book on your own, that is just wrong. Now if the person you are speaking with isn't helpful then find another of course. If you find yourself a good agent then we do put a lot of time and planning into your trip to find you the best prices for what you are looking for.

In fact the online booking engines undercut agents for so long to make many believe online is always lower that agents many times can get better prices than online now.

Remember you get what you pay for. =)

Have a Great Time and best of luck to you!
