We drove this route some 12 years ago and encountered many difficulties as the road was not completed. Any advise or suggestions would be welcomed. I dont know if this will be answered or by whom but thank you..... whoever you are.

Take hwy 85 from Laredo toward Montererrey. Just before Monterrey, head southwest on hwy 40 toward Saltillo. Before Saltillo turn south onto hwy 57 which goes all the way to Mexico City. It passes through Queretaro. It should take you around 11-12 hours of driving time.

You may wish to consider taking the bus. The cost of Mexican auto insurance, the highway tolls and the gas can add up. Of course the cost comparison depends on the number of people in your party.

Primera Plus a deluxe-class company does the route for 710 pesos. They have 7 departures daily.

The extremely comfortable ETN, an executive class company does the route for around 910 pesos. It will be far more comfortable than driving.
