My partner works in the oil industry and has been offered an excellent position in Nigeria. Does anyone know anything about working in Nigeria as we are worried about the safety issues before he accepts the job.

Their government (including the president) is comprised of many Soviet trained thugs. The ANC government came to power with the blood of men, women and children on its hands.
Apartheid has been reinstituted - this time called BEE - and now favors blacks. South African politicians (as far up as the deputy president) are constantly on trial for offenses ranging from fraud to rape. And always being acquitted.
All those innocent people on trial - go figure.
The infrastructure, built by the previous government, has crumbled and now Johannesburg is one of the most dangerous cities on Earth. The world famous Carlton Hotel has been deserted for years.
Rape, murder and other violent crime are out of control and the corrupt, inept police force does nothing about it.
The currency is worth nothing, the so-called government is more concerned with enriching themselves and the average South African is no better off than they were under apartheid.

I have had on my heart Afrifca missions for some time. I have looked on several websites trying to find someway to become involved, but the only type of involvement they offer is of a financial nature. I am not in the medical field, nor am I a teacher, but I do have a heart for the people. Does anyone know of any missions that already exist that I could contact to find out more information for involvment?

(or must I apply for it at home? If so, how long does it take for it to be processed & how much?) What sort of things do I really have to declare upon arrival at Cairo International Airport? (eg, mobile? digital camera?) How much spending money did you consume in a week there (Australian dollars) -or how much should I take (even if indulgent-wise)? Can I easily use my debit card in their ATMS especially say -if I have a Commonwealth Bank one?!? Which banks in Egypt can accept my card? What was the weather like? -What would I need to take? Whats a great souvenir I must bring home with me once I get back? What is worth seeing/doing (even if I don't follow a tour)? What/where are the hidden treasures of Egypt that have not yet been exploited by mass tourism?

The Bok De la Rey one? Has anyone heard his song? I personally have not, but there has been a big hoo haa over it. Seems like everyone has their own opinions on what he meant. Is it a fight against the struggle? An innocent song? I don't know and don't care. If it makes him happy then so be it. He apparently posts on white supremist forums. I say apparently because I cannot confirm that fact.
Everyone has their own hang ups and interpretations of things, so I think we should let him be. I know one thing for sure though, he is laughing all the way to the bank!

i mean really...
going on and on about how bad South Africa is, yadda, yadda this...yap, yap, yap, that! and funny enough, most of these yapping kings dont even live here anymore, but they seemingly seem to know more about RSA, than the actual residents of this country. This whole yapping, hasnt helped much, has it? Bitter people who cant afford to do anything but blaze SA...what the hell does that do for you? make you feel better? improve the countries condition? i suggest if anyone is going to talk, they best be talking about solutions and not problems... a lot of us carry a hope in our hearts, i love my home country. i've nowhere else coz this place is my origin...i've no distant cousin in europe or somewhere else overseas, who can set me up for a while after i leave this place...etc. So pls, just leave...or offer solutions...thank you!
