How common is it for emirati girls, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to not wear the headscarf or burqa? Is it common or rare?

I have been with my boyfriend for about 2 and a half years. His family is all in Lebanon, and this summer he wants me to go and meet them. This is really quite frightening to me because they all speak French and Arabic, which I don't. I have also never traveled across an ocean or anything before. My boyfriend keeps saying he is going to be the translator, but I don't see how I can really bond or get to know them with this huge language barrier. He is also the only son, and although my boyfriend says his family are so excited to meet me, I feel there must be some sort of resentment towards me for taking their son away. I feel I know about Lebanese culture, but I'm sure actually being there in person will be totally different from everything my boyfriend has told me.

Any words of wisdom or anything relevant would be greatly appreciated!

Another user mentioned that the cost of living has gone up considerably. I've noticed that as well. Just last week I went out for a dinner at "The Dros" and the bill came back R500. My co-worker sugests that the country is getting richer. Is this true or not? I've never been good at math or economics, so please enlighten me!

The Pharmacist Lady walked into a drug store and told
the pharmacist she needed some cyanide. The pharmacist
asked, "Why in the world do you need cyanide?" The
lady then explained she needed it to poison her
husband. The pharmacist's eyes got wide and he said,
"Lord have mercy, I can't give you cyanide to kill
your husband! That's against the law! I'll lose my
license... They'll throw both of us in jail and all
kinds of bad things will happen! Absolutely not! You
can NOT have any cyanide!" Then the lady reached into
her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband
having dinner in a restaurant with the pharmacist's
wife. The pharmacist looked at the picture and
replied, "Well, now... You didn't tell me you had a
prescription"

Two business men were having a discussion, and one of them said, "Maybe it is my luck but I don't know why my son is very dull". The other man replied,"you are much more lucky. My son is much more stupid". To know who was right, they decided to test their sons.
The first one called his son, "Akin, go and bring my suitcase from my bedroom". Akin went inside and came out with the carry case of the new suit his dad bought the previous day.The man said to his friend,"can you see what I am talking about?"
The second man man laughed and said,"your son has potential. Let me show you how stupid my own son is". He then called his son; Efe, and told him to go to his office and check if he was on his seat. Efe went to his dad's office and came back after two hours panting. Efe then said to his dad, "papa i reaching the office but you were not there so I left a message with you secretary to tell you that you sent me to come check up on you".

In UAE, Saudi, Egypt, or Mauritius - what are the creepy crawlies like? I mean, are there big spiders, or snakes or cockroaches etc found in these places?
I would associate spiders and snakes with Australia - but would like to know what to expect in Africa or Middle East.
Thanks
