For Emirati girls it is verry common to wear the abaya whith the head scarf. They are proud of it and don't want to have any different. No one wears the burqa over here, unless women from Afghanistan. But I have never seen one.
Of course there might be some Emirati girls dressed like Westerners, but not many. The most go for their traditionall clothes.

As a sign of respect on the Holy month of Ramadan, Hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi remains open, but not serving any type of intoxicating liqour and no live bands are playing.

There are many women without headscarves (shayla) or other forms of head coverings like hijab in Dubai & Abu Dhabi. It's impossible to know how many of them are Emirati, but I would guess a small number of them are local women. I believe they are happy to conform to the edicts of their religion and do not view it as restrictive. The burqua, made famous by the women of Afghanistan in the era of the Taliban, is non-existent.

More common in Dubai. Abu Dhabi...not so much. The headscargved girls like the "mystery" of being covered up.

The UAE is more westernized than most just as Turkey is therefore, you don't see the women covered up as much.
