Cape Town New Years festival?

We're travelling to Cape Town, South Africa in Dec. '07 & Jan. '08. There is supposedly a big "festival" on 1/1 & 1/2. Is it safe? We're caucasian, but love all races! Will we be happily included in the festivities? Is it a black celebration only? Any details you might know would be great. (No guesses, please). Someone that has been there would be ideal.

Do you think in another 20-30 years Lebanon will void of all Christians?

If another war breaks out in lebanon the christians may be forced to leave because of lack of protection and safety. The sunnis have the majority of the arab countries in the middle east to back them up and the shia have iran. The only option for the christians may be to leave lebanon the same fate palestinian coptic and chaldean christians had to leave their homelands.

What company has the best safaris in Botswana and South Africa? Why do you think so?

What other must-do things are there to do in these countries? Any recommendations on hotels and restaurants for before and after a safari? Since I'll probably only go once, I'd like the trip to be as special as possible. Our price range is moderate to moderately expensive.
